Unclean Slate
The Filthy Anthem
Band Biography
UNCLEAN SLATE doesn't compromise; they are the sonic collision point where down-tuned Southern Sludge slams directly into soaring, arena-ready Anthems. Their music is a deliberate throwback to a visceral era of rock—heavy, confrontational, and designed for maximum impact. They seamlessly merge the relentless, groove-heavy riff foundation of Corrosion of Conformity and the structural perfection of modern heavy hitters, resulting in a sound that is both relentlessly crushing and immediately chantable. This is the new age of aggressive, powerful rock and roll.
The foundation is built on decades of experience. Frontman Lamar Ricks, utilizing his three decades of performing history, delivers vocals that are simultaneously powerful, melodic, and flamboyant, guaranteeing instant recognition. This soaring vocal delivery is anchored by the formidable talents of guitarist Brock Starr (formerly of A Killer's Confession), whose riffing is the engine driving the band's signature sound. The rhythm section is a rock-solid unit: drummer Matt Gum provides the essential backbone and technical prowess, locking down the complex groove alongside bassist Troy Fox, a veteran presence in the Central Ohio scene.
The six-track debut EP entitled, "The Dirt," featuring tracks like "GEMINI" and the monumental title-track "The Dirt," is an immediate, definitive statement of intent from a band ready to reclaim the grit and glory of rock's heaviest anthems.
